Nervi e San Rocco

Today was probably the most beautiful day we have had weather-wise - perfect. We decided to walk to Nervi in the morning - in a search for pesto. We walked down to the Anita Garibaldi Passeggiata (walkway by the sea) and after walking a while stumbled upon the Blue Marlin Cafe - which had just opened for the season.  It is a white-washed bar down many steps & built upon the rocks. It was so beautiful.....we just relaxed and enjoyed the view before heading back to Bogliasco for lunch.

After lunch we worked a bit and rested (pennichella - so everything is closed) then met two other fellows for a drive in our miniature car up to San Rocco, about a half hour or so drive up into the Portofino Peninsula. San Rocco is tiny, just one road but has incredible views over the sea looking out over the Ligurian coastline all the way to the French border on a clear day. We walked to the one bar in town - built into a little cave along the hiking path down to Portofino. The tables are all outside, strung along the path. It was a beautiful afternoon & very warm in the sun!

Reluctantly, we left to return for dinner to Bogliasco, which was followed by the first two presentations of fellows of their work, both filmmakers.  More presentations will follow in the next few days.....
