La Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi
Just to the west of the Foundation is the town of Nervi. There is a wonderful walkway, or passeggiata, along the coastline that has been built by the town to connect a series of public parks. The parks have been acquired over time as large residences have been donated or sold to the City. The Villas in the four adjacent parcels have been converted into museums. The whole area is quite an extraordinary amenity for Nervi.
Today's destination was the Wolfsoniana Museum, which is about a 20 minute walk at the far western end of the passeggiata. The museum was founded by Mitchell Wolfson, Jr., and has a counterpart (sister museum) in the Art Deco District of Miami Beach. The collections focus on artistic currents reaching back to 1880, but primarily the first decades of the twentieth century, from Art Nouveau to Art Deco and from the Novecento movement to Rationalism.
La Cena
We also thought it would be fun to show last night's dinner.......sponsored by a donor in New York who is a friend of the Foundation. It was a little fancier than normal, and great fun. (sorry to not get us in the picture........Andrea's hair is on the left!)
