Prenderla con calma...... bello e pigro!

Today was our first really hot day.  We walked into town in late morning & saw several people in shorts & bathing suits sunning on the little beach just below the church on the main piazza. Made it back in time for lunch which is always amazingly good - two types of focaccia (Ligurian speciality), salad & a raisin cake.  This is why we need to keep walking more or less non-stop!

The first thing we see each morning is a view that continues to surprise us with its drama and beauty.  We have large interior wooden shutters that are quite an effort to open up, but the ritual makes it rather special.  This was what we saw this morning around 7:30.

Right across the street from the Foundation is a fun plant and florist shop.  It is right on the road with barely any place to park........but easy for us to walk to.

We also saw several people fishing off the rocks today........and lots of sea gulls doing the same.

We have a new photo essay topic........laundry hanging out to dry!  The layering of clothing on 'building forms' offers an amazing array of colors and patterns.......a kind of 2-dimensional collage added on to the already amazing surface colors of the buildings.  More to come on this one!

Getting a bit dressed up for dinner is not so bad.  I have managed to gain consensus with the other guys that losing the tie most of the time will not get us thrown out!  Here we are, each of us on one of our balconies.  I like the one facing west and AJ likes the one facing south.

Late this afternoon, the lighting changed as the sun began to fade and some hazy clouds moved in from the south.  The quality of light on the water was amazing.
