Un Viaggio Attraverso il Paese del Vino Alba

We had a fairly lazy morning, but still managed to hit the road around 11:00.  We had a good route all planned, but managed to confuse Siri right out of the driveway by making a wrong turn.  While we had intended to take a more scenic route, we were playing it safe after some advice from the woman at the front desk who said she always took the longer route to Genoa by going north and connecting on the autostrada........avoiding the 'curvy roads.'  

Well, Siri opted not to correct us........re-plotting our route instead and we ended up going cross-country through a remote range of hills on a wonderful road barely more than a cart path for the wine tractors.  It was absolutely fantastic!  with a bit of fear and trepidation mixed in........as there were occasional areas of the hillside roads which had washed out over the winter!
